Craps
is the most social and exciting game casinos offer, if you know
how to play, it can also be the most profitable. If you don't, it
can be very intimidating.
The first roll of a game is known as the "come
out roll". A come out roll totaling 7 or 11 automatically wins
whatever the player bet on the pass line, and a roll of 2, 3, or
12 automatically loses. If the come out roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9,
or 10 the shooter continues to roll until he matches the come out
roll, resulting in another come out roll. Or he rolls a 7 or 11
and "craps out" losing the bet and control of the dice.
There are many different bets available in craps, refer
to the tables below to understand the game better: |
|
Pass
Line
|
| A
pass line bet is placed during the initial come out roll and is
considered betting with the shooter. On the first roll a winner
is a 7 and 11, and a losing roll is 2, 3, or 12. If the come out
roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 the shooter has this as the "point"
where the shooter wins if the number is matched before a roll of
7, in which case the bet is lost. |

Don't
Pass Line
|
|
A
dont pass line bet is placed during the initial come out roll
and is generally the oppisite of a pass line bet. This bet is
won on an initiall roll of 2, 3, or 12 and loses on a 7 or 11.
If none of these are rolled on the come out roll, a "point"
is established and the bet is won if a 7 is rolled before
the point is rolled.
|
| |
|
Come
|
| A
come bet is available only after a point is established, The next
roll of the dice is a winner if 7 or 11 is thrown, and a loser if
2, 3, or 12 is thrown. If another value is rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9,
or 10) the bet stays on the table, and if the point is rolled before
a 7 is hit, the bet wins. If a 7 is rolled before the point is hit,
the bet is lost. This type of bet pays even money. |
| |
|
Don't
Come
|
| A
don't come bet is basically the opposite of a come bet. Only available
after the initial come out roll, the bet is won if a 2, 3 or 12
is rolled and lost if a 7 or 11 is rolled. If another value is rolled
(4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) the bet stays on the table, and if the point
is rolled before a 7 is hit, the bet loses, if a 7 is rolled the
bet is a winner. This type of bet pays even money. |
| |
|
Place
|
| After
the come out roll, you can make a "place" bet, where you
bet on the specific number you want, or don't want, to hit next.
The only numbers available for this are 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10. You
can make multiple place bets as well as take them off after each
roll if nothing is won or lost. If you make a place bet for the
number to win, this number must be rolled before a 7 comes out.
If you bet on a number to lose, your hoping a 7 will hit before
that number. |
| |
|
Buy/Lay
|
| A
buy or lay bet is similar to a place bet, but 5% is paid to the
house to get true odds. A buy bet is placed on a number to win,
where a lay bet is placed on a number to lose. |
| |
|
Field
|
| A
field bet is a one time bet, only good for the next roll. It pays
even money for a roll of 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11, and 2 to 1 on a roll
of 2 or 12. |
| |
|
Big
6/Big 8
|
| A
Big 6 bet is a bet that a 6 will be rolled before a 7. A Big 8 bet
is a bet that an 8 will be rolled before a 7. Both of these bets
pay even money. |
| |
|
Hardway
|
| A
hardway bet is a bet that a certain hard combination will be rolled
before a 7 or the same soft combination is rolled. |
